Based in Calgary, Alberta, Dianne Bos is Canada’s “queen” of pinhole photography and teacher of photography and art history at the Alberta College of Art and Design. Multi-talented, her art practice and interests extend into a variety of creative fields, from being a lead singer and keyboardist for several musical bands, having her photography designed for several vinyl, cassette, CD and video releases in Canada, USA and Europe, and writing and photographing for contemporary garden and design. Bos has consistently exhibited photography and installation works in solo and group shows in public and private galleries and museums across Canada from 1986 to the present, including the 2007 Garden Shed Galactica, Outdoor installation, London Museum, Ontario and 2008 Through the Looking Glass, Glenbow Museum, Calgary, Alberta and most recently the 2011 Fotografia Stenopeica, Museo Comunale d’Arte Moderna, Senigallia, Italy, Group Exhibition and Pinhole workshop. Bos won the National Award for best photography at the CDN National Magazine Awards, Homes and Gardens, for her work on Calgary, Alberta, Avenue magazine’s September 2004 feature detailing the purchase of a medieval home in France.
