I love morning. The inspiration of this series is the energy I feel while I am taking a walk very early in the morning. As I grow older, I feel that my sensitivity to the change in the level, or characteristic of energy is sharpened, and that the reaction to the change becomes more intensified. The reaction is often really powerful and sometimes almost painful. Yet, it is the essence of my practice, and so of my life.
My collage consists of pure physical reactions to the energy that I have gotten during my morning walk; I exclude any kind of interpretation, or sentiment. In other word, I just watch my hands while they are doing what they have to, until they stop.
My drawing reflects many components, things I feel during the walk, such as colour, sounds, smell and rhythm of my movements. However, the fresh energy in the morning atmosphere is still my main focus. I include everything, such as my thoughts, feelings as well as physical reactions to the surroundings. So, it is safe to say that my drawings in this series are abstract self-portraits.

Line is the main component and quietness is an essential character of my work. The current work is an investigation into the relations between these two things.
When I make a line, it certainly makes a sound. Although faint, the sound that is created by my movement of making a line resonates, ripples through my memories, and evokes emotions. This chain reaction leads me to the next line. As I keep on working and the lines get intensified, resonating sound in my mind grows louder. However, at a certain point, the sound level begins to go down, as if each new sound counterbalances the old one. Consequently, my work starts to transform into a quiet field of lines. When my work reaches an absolute silence, I feel that the piece I have been working is completed. The quietness in my work is not just a lack of sound, but it is brimming over with silent energy that is the result of intense repetition of my line making movement.
