Story of this Artwork
Bauhaus was an institution in Germany for exploring new ways of living. The colours used in the Bauhaus movement were primary and evolutionary in the world of design at the time. The members of the Bauhaus movement were architects, interior designers, product designers and artists, who changed the way we live and think today. This was a progressive movement that was forced to close down in 1933 due to pressure from the Nazis, but today its influence has spread all over the world through Bauhaus members who migrated to America, Russia and many parts of Europe. The book is a tool of learning, of information, creativity and knowledge, and this painting is on a book cover: one of colours working together, experiments with one colour working off the other and breaking new ground, as a tribute to the work they did.
